Act 1, Scene 5
Location: Capulets House
Characters: Servingman, Capulet, Cousin Capulet, Romeo, Tybalt, Juliet, Nurse.
Time: Sunday Night
Events: Capulet has his party that Sunday night and Romeo decides to attend as he has his doubts but he wants to see Roseline. As Romeo walks in he sees Juliet and asks the Servingman who she is but the Servingman does not recognize. Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin notices that Romeo is at the party even though he has his mask on. Tybalt wants to start a fight but Capulet restrains him. Romeo approaches Juliet and asks to kiss her, Juliet flirts with him and they kiss more than once. Romeo asks the nurse who the beautiful girl was and the nurse lets him no that she is a Capulet. Juliet had left to have a word with her mother and the nurse follows. Juliet talks to the nurse about who he is and if he is married her grave is her wedding bed, as in she will not marry anyone else. Juliet – “Go ask his name. – If he be married, My grave is my wedding bed.”
