Shows how she’s materialistic because she thinks she can change her personality along with what she wears
- Those snippets tell us that gatsby has a lot of power and strength, he must think because he’s got a lot of money that he has every power in the world. Since he does have a lot of money everyone knows him by being rich. Most people find the rich big headed and intimidating.
- “Was within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life” This reveals that he takes in all the information and absorbs everything in.
