Nick states that the behaviour is associated by amusement parks so you would think he means that they are wild, all over the show. Nick thinks its a bit childish.

Who is owl eyes? What surprises him about gatsby’s library? Why would this impress them?
Man with owl eyed glasses and he is surprised by gatsby’s library because they are all real books which you don’t normally find and the owl eyed man thinks he’s a fraud but doesn’t judge him for it because he’s impressed. Not many people owned real books because they are really expensive back in 1920s.

Fitzgerald is trying to convey that they really dont know what kinmd of person he really is and he probabably has tp be really careful about what hes saying because he might not be the person hes betraying to be. Gatsby didnt wnat to say anything offensive to make people not like him he wants us to think of him in a specific way.

That the parties get wild and serious stuff happens at gatsby that probably shouldnt happen but happens anyway, all troubkle might revolve around him. Nick doesnt like the behaviour. Gatsby can put on a face and that his smile is quite mysterious and no one really knows what his personal life is really like but nick still portrays him as a confusing man. But no one really knows what hiding behind that smile it could be a place of darkness and troublesome. He goes on about his smile because he looks up to gatsby.
